Hi, I’m Bill. I’m a professional writer, speaker, consultant, Las Vegas 911 EMT hobbyist, and manager of a multi-million dollar business. On this blog, I share my thoughts on a slew of topics like writing, personal development, marketing, and whatever else crosses my mind. It is my hope that my work helps you achieve whatever you may be working toward. If I can be of any assistance to you in the pursuit of your goals, please do not hesitate to contact me.
So why the funny name for the site? It’s simple really…but there’s a bit more to the story. There always is.
The decision to start this blog, among many other things, was made as part of a process I’ve engaged in for the past eighteen months. While certainly not a “culmination” of events, it’s one of many steps down a path I’ve been wanting to go for quite some time. This process can best be described as a complete redirection of my life, work, and goals. Some may call it a mid-life crisis. That opinion has been voiced more than a few times by people who do not understand why I am doing this. I think that’s inaccurate, though. I prefer to think of it as a mid-life awakening.
Over the course of the coming months, I’ll discuss in detail the reasons why I have changed a lot of the things I do in life. Until then, suffice it to say that it took me forty-five years to get off the X and make the necessary changes I needed to make. It was actually forty-five years and forty-seven days, but that would have been a ridiculously long URL…so I shortened it. Therefore, the reason I named the sight “fortyfiveyears.com” is simple – to make certain that every time I see my URL or site title or WordPress admin button I am reminded of how long I waited to begin.
Hopefully, my work can help you get off your X in much less time than it took me!
